Birthday & Climbing Parties

Celebrate at Austin Bouldering Project with a party full of climbing adventure! At ABP, our fantastic birthday party and event crew provide everything from climbing instruction to challenge games. Our large, private space surrounded by climbing walls is perfect for any celebration.

Our parties are ideal for ages 5-10 years.

The standard youth party size is 10 for a 2-hour event, but we can take care of larger groups. Just ask.



Saturdays and Sundays

10am-12pm or 2pm-4pm

Pricing and Deposit

$275 for up to 10 climbers

$15/each additional climber (max 10 additional participants)

$275 flat rate due at time of booking

Includes $50 non-refundable deposit

Event balance must be paid in full on or before event date

Please note: We do not save credit card information. Please pay any balance due at the conclusion of your party.

Cancellation Policy

Full refund, minus $50 deposit, given if cancelled 30 days in advance.

$275 is non-refundable for no-shows or cancellations within 30 days of the party.

What’s Included

  • 1 hour and 15 minutes of staff-directed climbing, games and activities & 45 minutes of celebration and party time
  • Reserved event in private climbing room
  • ABP staff to direct climbing activities
  • Rental shoes for youth participants
  • Tables, chairs, mini fridge, and celebration area

Not Included

  • Plates, napkins, cups or silverware
  • Rental shoes or day passes for adult climbers
  • Party decorations or accessories
  • Access to any climbing area outside of the birthday room
  • Food or beverages

Additional Information

All waivers (anyone staying for the party, even if they are not climbing) need to be completed online 24 hrs before party.

Anyone (youth and adult) wanting to climb before or after the party must purchase a day pass.

Youth Day Pass- $12 + tax.

Adult Day Pass- $16 + tax.

Need time to decorate? You may arrive 30 minutes before party time.

To ensure adequate staffing, party reservations must be made one month in advance.

After School Clubs

Austin Bouldering Project After School Clubs are held by semester. The Fall semester runs from September-November and the Spring semester runs from January-May.

*Clubs will not meet the week of Thanksgiving, November 21-25, and AISD Spring Break, March 13-17.

Mini-Mountaineers (Ages 4-6)


  • Tuesdays 4:00-5:00pm
  • Wednesdays 3:30-4:30pm
  • Non-members $50/month, Members $40/month

Mini-Mountaineers is designed for 4-6 year olds focusing on being active, having fun and promoting a love for climbing from an early age. ABP instructors provide a supportive environment where each participant will explore the world of bouldering through exciting climbing games and basic instruction. Small class sizes ensure constant guidance and encouragement as these little ones prepare for a future in climbing and tackling new adventures.

Dyno-saurs (Ages 7-9)


  • Monday 4-5:30pm
  • Non-members $65/month, members $55/month

Dyno-saurs is perfect for 7-9 year olds offering a fun, inventive and supportive atmosphere where kids will explore climbing movement and fundamentals. ABP instructors lead young boulderers in developing confidence, focus and social skills through age appropriate climbing activities. Dyno-saurs focuses on group encouragement and support in an active environment.

Bombers (Ages 10-12)


  • Fridays 4:30-6:30pm
  • Non-members $80/month, members $70/month

Bombers is geared toward 10-12 year olds, the budding young climber seeking more climbing experience. Challenging but not overwhelming, ABP instructors guide games and challenges tailored to unique strengths and abilities to ensure positive climbing experiences for all. With more structured lessons and two hours of climbing per week, the Bombers program promotes technique, strength, and balance through engaging group and individual activities

Crushers (Ages 13-17)


  • Tuesdays and Thursdays 5-6:30pm
  • Non-members $100/month, members $90/month

Crushers is designed for 13-17 year olds to develop and progress as climbers and provide an opportunity for physical challenge and improvement. ABP instructors focus on the individual needs of each climber while building a supportive group atmosphere. In addition to technical climbing instruction twice a week, climbers will learn the basics of weight training and the importance of fitness.

Climbing Camps

Spring Break Camp



Spending spring break at Austin Bouldering Project is a fantastic way for young climbers to stay active during their week off school. This week-long camp is designed for elementary age youth who desire to experience the thrill of bouldering while making new friends. Our energetic instructors guide youth through fun filled days of climbing, yoga, games, crafts and more!

  • Ages: 5-7 and 8-12
  • Dates: Monday March 13th – Friday March 17th
  • Time: 9am-5pm
  • Pricing: Non-members $375, Members $350

All campers should bring a lunch, 2 snacks, and a water bottle every day- ABP does not provide food. Any kind of athletic clothing that’s easy to move in is perfect for climbing all day. Climbing shoes are provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own!

Summer Camp




Take your summer to new heights at Austin Bouldering Project! We offer week long camps for youth of all ages who are excited to monkey around. The mini-climbers will spend their days climbing throughout all areas of they gym with our fabulous instructors. To give everyone’s arms and hands a break we’ll also be making crafts, spending some time outside and practicing yoga!

Campers should bring a lunch, 2 snacks, and a water bottle every day. ABP does not provide food. Climbing shoes are included for every camper.

  • Dates: June 12th – August 18th, Monday – Friday
  • Ages: 5-7 yrs, 8-12 yrs and Teens*
  • Time: 9am-5pm
  • Pricing: Non-members $375/wk, Members $350/wk

*Teen camps are only offered June 26-30, July 17-21, and August 7-11

Parents’ Night Out


Skip the babysitter and still have a night out! ABP’s Parents’ Night Out lets you enjoy adult time to yourselves or maybe some climbing without the little ones around. Meanwhile, your kids experience a fun filled night away from their parents. Every night’s activities are a little different but we’ll always play climbing games and watch a movie.

  • One Friday Every Other Month (Be on the look out for exact dates)
  • 6pm-9pm
  • $10 per child
  • Climbing shoes included

Next Parents’ Night Out

  • Friday, February 17th
  • Movie: The Little Prince
  • Dinner will not be provided, but you’re welcome to bring in any food or drink 🙂

Group Climbing

Minimum of 5 climbers and maximum of 30 climbers.

*Groups larger than 30 climbers are considered on a case by case basis.

Groups must book through to receive discounted rates.


  • Adults (18+) $12
  • Youth (17 and younger) $10

All prices include gym access and rental shoes.


  • Monday-Friday: 6am-4pm
  • Saturday & Sunday: 9am, 12pm and 4pm-8pm

Discounted group rates are only offered during the hours listed above. Groups are welcome to book outside of these hours and purchase regular priced day passes at $16 for adults and $12 for youth.

Groups with 15 or more youth under the age of 14 are required to have an ABP Instructor for the duration of their visit. Instructors are $15/hr.

Additional Info

Bookings must be done at least one week in advance through to receive discounted rates. Group bookings requiring instruction must be made two weeks in advance.

To ensure the best check-in experience possible we require the names of everyone that will be climbing with your group at least 24 hours in advance. Discounted group rates will only be available for climbers that we have names of ahead of time. Any climbers that we do not have names for ahead of time may purchase regular priced day passes.

Everyone visiting ABP, even those who are not climbing, must have a completed waiver. Please have all waivers completed online 24 hrs before your group arrives.

All groups receive a gym orientation covering general climbing basics, rules and safety. Groups interested in more instruction may opt for an ABP instructor to be with their group for $15/hr.

Supervision for youth under 14 years old is required at all times. In youth climbing areas 1 adult can supervise up to 3 youth. In the adult climbing area 1 adult can supervise up to 2 youth.

ABP reserves the right to turn away any large unscheduled group.

Youth Safety

Bouldering is super fun. And kids are naturals at it. But rock climbing is dangerous and has many risks. Highly-attentive adult supervision is crucial for the safety of youth and others.


Any youth (younger than 14) must be actively supervised by the adult who is responsible for them during their visit to the gym. Any parent, guardian or chaperone responsible for a youth must maintain direct supervision over the youth during the entirety of their visit. An adult cannot supervise more than 3 youth at a time.

Before climbing, all participants under 18 must have a waiver signed only by a parent or legal guardian.

Unchaperoned drop-offs are not permitted. Youth must be actively supervised by their responsible adult at all times.

No jumping off structures.

No running, rough-housing, horseplay or acrobatics (flips, cartwheels, handstands, etc.).

Indoor voices. No yelling.

Fitness equipment may only be used by people 14 and over. No playing allowed on fitness equipment.

Never stand, sit, or walk in an area where another climber could fall. Always look at the climbing walls around you, especially when walking through the gym, to see where climbers are on the walls.

Never climb above, below, or near another climber. Please be considerate.

Never climb up the designated descents on the top-out structures.

Everyone at the Austin Bouldering Project must check in at the front desk at the beginning of every visit. If you have not checked in, you do not have permission to climb or use abp facilities.

Before beginning any fitness program or changing your physical activity patterns, you should always consult with your doctor or physician, particularly if you have been inactive, are overweight, or have or suspect any sort of medical condition that might be worsened by exercise.
